Following the money
Romel D'Munda has 15-plus years of experience following the money in financial-crimes compliance. He has built his career making sure large institutions handle other people's money honestly, and he wants to put that same auditor's eye to work for Scotch Plains taxpayers.
Service and giving back
Romel served in the United States Navy from 2001 to 2004. That same commitment to service shows up close to home: for many years he has volunteered with Scotch Plains-Fanwood youth sports, including as a vice president of operations, and has helped coach kids across baseball, basketball, and football. The goal has always been simple: giving back to the community while helping local kids succeed.
Rooted in Scotch Plains
Romel lives in Scotch Plains with his family. In November 2024 he was sworn into the Scotch Plains-Fanwood chapter of UNICO, the nation’s largest Italian-American service organization, where he volunteers in the chapter’s charitable and community work.
At home, Romel is a dedicated husband and father. He is running for Township Council as a Republican, endorsed by the Union County Republican Organization.
